About Chris Graham
My Professional Background
I’m a retired professional pilot. My career began as a flight instructor at Moncton Flight College. I’ve flown corporate, airline, and air ambulance. I’ve been coast to coast to coast in Canada, with considerable time operating in the north. From a couple of thousand feet of gravel north of 60 to some of busiest airspace in North America.
Some of my best memories include flying within the Aurora Borealis or having flown premature infants or childen out of the north down to Edmonton for specialty care and finding out later that the patient has done well.
Family
Orignally from Nova Scotia, I’ve been on a meandering migration west over the last quarter century through Moncton, Toronto, Edmonton and now Cochrane, Alberta just west of Calgary.
I’ve been married for over 22 years to my beautiful, courageous and patient partner. We had our son as I turned 50. I had the opportunity to spend some time as a stay-at-home dad during the pandemic. I loved my office in the flight deck but my perspective changed and I didn’t want to miss my son growing up. Once he began school I had the opportunity and time to train for a new profession.
Becoming a dad has been the greatest privelage and blessing in my life.
My Personal Healing
Real courage lies in emotional vulnerability. I had spent much of the previous 20 years on my personal journey of healing and self-discovery. Looking back now, I was a pretty selfish person for much of my life. With the exception of the work I did as an air ambulance pilot, I don’t think I have done much with my life that contributed positively to the lives of others. Reflecting on that and being a father now created a desire to contribute positively to the lives of others and do something that I could be proud of when I share with my son, or anybody for that matter, what I do.
Why I Want To Help You
I’ve worked with with numerous therapists of various stripes and an amazing men’s community. I have done so much of my own work and been witness to the work of others in my groups that I realized I had acquired an expereince of my own in helping others.
I completed my Life Coaching training with Rhodes Wellness College in Vancouver, British Columbia. I am a member of the Internatonal Coaching Federation (ICF).
Choosing to invest in your own growth is always a good idea. You want to have the right partner.
As a coach, my interests and strengths include clarifying personal values, understanding what gives your life meaning, expanding emotional understanding, setting acheivable goals and accountability. I believe that real courage lies in emotional vulnerability.
Some people are not comfortable looking at these aspects of life. When you are willing to stretch into and push against the uncomfortable parts of life and consider your own light and shadow, you can understand your self, your potential and your purpose.
Are you ready for an inner adventure?
I’d love to help you find your new path. Let’s see if we would make a good team.
